I have a lenovo yoga 730 15IKB model 81CU with a damaged touch screen. I wanted to do realistic heavy 3d modeling and other components of game design (coding, audio etc later on maybe) but am mostly focusing on 3d and testing animations while playing fighting games on this laptop to make comparisons to frames/character movements etc (from older to modern titles; tekken 7, or whetever is needed to learn) Would it be better to use this rig with a replaced touchscreen or buy a new monitor that I can also use to sculpt/draw (via touch pen)& play games (high refresh rate etc.)?
Is there a trade off in getting a monitor with a touch pen input vs that made solely for gaming or do ones exist that perform both equally well? Idealyy I'd like to spend less money but I'm open to suggestions.
And what specs do I need to look at for my purposes whether for one or the other (modeling/sculpting & gaming) when buying a display? Can you offer some model reccomendations?
And considering my model laptop, will this perform well for the purposes I am seeking? I'd ideally like something more mobile like a laptop but am open to suggestions/ Are any laptops on par with pc's at this point performance wise?
And is it really necessary to have to screen when it comes to designing/testing games or where does this really help or is absolute?
