I genuinely enjoy the Boku no Hero Academia My Hero One's Justice games. I think they're a great blend of goofy easy arena fighter mixed in with just enough depth to keep me interested.
Movement feels fun, combos feels good, and the assist system is neat because you get to pick 2 of them assists that have many different use cases. Assists are tied to a meter, with some coming back faster after being called than others, and are chosen for different utilities. You can pick an assist that will help you extend combos, or pick an assist to help you play neutral like in the Vs. games, but assists are also your only combo breakers and some are better than others for that.
Using your assists wisely is a big interesting part of the game.
Also, there are three different types of moves: Regular hits, Unlockable (ex. a grab), and Armored attacks. They're all color coded and trump one another RPS style, making the footsies something that's readable and fun.
I can't say the same for the Naruto Storm style games personally.
